Medical Transcription At Home Knowledge Base
Is there a good program to learn medical transcription at home using my personal computer? And after I have that degree, are there REAL possibilities to work from my computer at home? If so, how would I go about finding these at-home opportunities? Would the online program help me find them or would I have to pound the pavement myself and go to doctor's offices, etc. to see if they have anything for at-home medical transcription. Because if it's really just a pipe dream to work from home with this job then I wouldn't want to pursure the degree.
What is a good at home medical transcription company that I can work with? I currently work full time as a medical transcriptionist and would like to do at home medical transcription part-time to make a littl bit of extra money. Does anyone know of a legitimate company/website that is looking to hire? Flexible shifts would be wonderful! I tried MedQuist but I was not approved for them for some reason... I'm looking for just LEGITIMATE medical transcription..not surveys or secret shoppers or any of this other garbage.
Any work-at-home medical transcription jobs out there? I'm sick off and on all the time, so I am looking for a medical transcription online job where I can work flexible hours as possible. I just need names of places or contact information where I can send my resume to.
Would at-home medical transcription be good for me? I type 100-120 words per minute I worked for two years in multi-specialty transcription (1991 through 1993) October 1993 - Current: I work for a mental health agency where I am a medical transcriptionist by title. I still type doctor's notes, but mostly type meeting minutes now, so I've been out of multi-speciality transcription for a long time. Also, my husband is on Social Security Disability for a refractory seizure disorder (he cannot work and he stays home). He is Cherokee Indian, so he gets free medical care. I am thinking of doing at-home transcription so I can stay home with my disabled husband and better use my abilities. What are some good, legit medical transcription companies, especially those that offer health insurance? Any serious responses would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Please DO NOT bother to send me spam, because I WILL report you. I know this seems harsh, but this is a serious inquiry which could have implications for me and my husband's future. Thank you in advance.
At-home medical transcription questions? I have been a medical transcriptionist for 17 years. My first two years was in radiology, neurology, and non-invasive cardiology. I have been transcribing psychiatric transcription for a medical transcription clinic for about 15 years now. I type 120-140 WPM and have been told that at home-transcription would be ideal for me. Also, we plan on moving out of state in less than a year (from Oklahoma to West Virginia), and I will need another job. My question is will my experience be good enough (since I've been transcribing only psychiatry for the past 15 years)? Will I need a refresher course? I have an associate's degree in Medical Secretarial Science from a two-year university (OSU-Okmulgee -- Okmulgee, Oklahoma)
Is at-home medical transcription for me? Here are my stats in a nutshell: --Type 120-140 WPM --Associates degree in Medical Transcription --1991-1993: Worked in hospital typing radiology, neurology, and non-invasive cardiology --1992-Present: Work at a mental health facility typing psychiatric/psychology transcription What are the chances of me getting on in a full-time at-home transcription job? (I realize I may have to take a two- or three-month refresher course in medical terminology because a lot has changed since the early 90s)
Should I leave my steady job and do at-home medical transcription full-time? (I put this under "Etiquette" because it falls a little bit under that category and I suspect I will get less spam) I type 100-120 words per minute I worked for two years in multi-specialty transcription (1991 through 1993) October 1993 - Current: I work for a mental health agency where I am a medical transcriptionist by title. Am I qualified to do medical transcription at home (see details)? I have worked as a medical transcriptionist for the same company for 17 years and I really like my job, but me and my husband may need to move out-of-state in the next several years. For about a year-and-a-half, I worked in a hospital doing radiology, non-invasive cardiology, and neurology transcription. This was back in 1992 and 1993. In late 1993, I was hired at a mental health clinic as a medical transcriptionist and psychiatry transcription is all I have done for the past 17 years. I type approximately 140 words per minute. Is there any chance I could get my foot in the door for an at-home medical transcription company? (I have heard good things about MedScribe, specifically).
Is there any moms out there doing Medical Transcription at home? I was wondering how hard it really is to stay at home and work. I have 4 kids ages 10,9,8,2. How should I start the business, at a hospital or office or at home. I can make more money at home, but how do you start finding clients?

Is there any at-home medical transcription companies that will hire people without prior experience working? for a hospital first. I mean you have the degree and everything, but do all medical transcription companies require you have expierence working for a hospital for a few years before you can work from home? Neither of you really answered my question, I asked if I can get hired from a company without having worked in a hospital first. And yes hospitals do hire people straight from school, how else would people get experience? You start in a hospital then usually go to at home if you can find a progrram, I just wondered if I could find an at home program first and just skip working for a hospital and just work for one of the companies.
