how do i become a medical transcriptionist? what online colleges provide the best "bang for your buck?" i've done some research and have come to the conclusion that i'll probably need to take some kind of test to become certified, and these certifications may vary based on which region i'm in. the online classes appear to just ready me for this certification test, meaning i won't really have much to show for completing them other than the knowledge i'll receive, right? and would i be better off just completing a course in "medical administration" or "medical office management" as opposed to just limiting my self to a "medical transcriptionist?"
Medical Office Assisting/ CNA Occupations? I am currently enrolled in an online Medical Office Assisting course and am learning the fundamental trades of office work but have always wanted to learn some fundamental trades of clinical procedures (checking vital signs, blood pressure, etc.) However, I am deathly afraid to draw blood and was wondering what would possibly be the best profession for me to go into where I can do both clincal and office procedures without having to possibly draw blood. I know at some hospitals you can actually request to do certain things but would it be best to get my CNA certification or to get a Medical Assisting diploma or certificate? Do you think that since I am fixing to be certified in Medical Office Assisting that I should just take the 1 month-3 month CNA course or what? Please help! Thanks!

Is an associate degee or an certificate better to land an medical adminstrative position? Medical Assistant online schools-Penn Foster and Allied Health Institute? I am looking into Medical Assisting/Medical Office Assisting/Medical Transcriptionist. Does anyone know if either Penn Foster or Allied Health Institute are good schools for these professions? I know at Alled I'd be able to take the CMA and RMA-but I don't know cost yet. And at Penn Foster, I'd be able to take the RMA, and it's affordable. I'm also looking into SJVC, Mountain State, and Ashworth, so if you know anything about those schools please let me know. I am taking this online because I am expecting, so that's what is easiest for me. I know programs can have a clinical aspect where I have to do it away from home; I'm okay with that.

Medical Office Assistance? I recently went to college and was certified to work in Medical/Business Offices. I'm primarily interested in working the front desk/office for a medical facility. Problem is, there doesn't seem to be a large number of job listings available online for this occupation/medical offices don't seem to publically advertise when they are hiring for such positions. So my question is: What is the best way to go about looking for employment opportunities for this position?
Do you think that putting medical records online will lower costs or just result in more lawsuits on privacy? One of the ideas being batted around in congress to streamline or improve efficiency in lowering medical costs is to put patients records online so that information is more readily accessible at clinics, emergency rooms and state and federal offices. Do you think that the supposed reduction in medical and administrative costs will be worth all the potential privacy invasion and loss of personal security that will come from thousands of new people suddenly having more access to your medical history and personal information?
Medical Office Administration or Medical Assistant? I am trying to decide to go to school for Medical Assistant or for Medical Office Administration. There is a two year waiting period for nursing as well as physical therapist assistant and many other programs at the local colleges. The two programs that I can get into are Medical Office Administration and Medical Assistant The school offers a 12 month class for Medical Office Administration and a 16 month class for Medical Assistant. Neither one offers a degree but a Certificate. This is an accredited College that is available for Pell Grants from FASFA. Brookstone College of Business in Greensboro North Carolina and it's not a cheap school at $16,800 for Medical Assistant $12,000 for Medical Office Administration There is also an internship near the end of the school program. and a job placement specialist and so far all of their graduates have all got jobs. Right now I am just trying to choose between the two. The person I spoke with at the school told me that Medical Assistant's make more money, and men in the field are in high demand. The problem is that everything I see online tells me that Medical Office Administration makes more money. I have searched Salary.com and a few other places. Has anyone here worked at either, or know someone who has. I am not planning on doing any additional education years later to become a nurse or anything so whatever I choose would be a the career path I go into. My questions are these 1) Which position makes more money? 2) Which position would be easier to get? 3) What is a typical day like for these two positions?

How can I get an online job that is not selling? I really need an online job. It is so stressful for me to go to work. My blood pressure has gone up from 147/90 to 168/109. I have to work but everytime I get a job there is always "someone" that gives me a hard time, or I should say "hates me". I can't deal with the ridiculousness of "office politics". I am a good worker, always on time, I don't fool around, very dependable, which I have been told in almost every job I have ever had. But for some reason because of the "bulliness" of the so called "office routine", or better known as "office politics" I am just not getting anywhere. I am just so stressed out. It seems like there is always someone looking for every little, tiny, mistake or flaw I may have to bully me. I don't know what to do, I have to work, but the office "bulliness" is going to kill me. Does anyone know of an online job that does not deal with selling. Medical transcription or appointment setting. Please help me. Please. Thanks all of you for all your great answers. It will take me a bit to investigate.
