The average person doesn't know how to interpret information online. So how should a person read the medical info online. How can they use that info. to help them instead of harming them? Oh my God, My mom an IMC nurse had to deal with a Type 3. The family said they don't want the dr. to give him a med because of side effects, then they said go ahead, then they said don't. Finally got up graded, and family was banned.

Can I start the Disability application online, and complete it when I have more medical info? I am waiting confirmation from my husbands Dr for Bipolar Disorder. Is there any way to find out what time your VA medical clinic appointment time online or phone automation? What is a normal TSH level for the thyroid? I have read varying info online and not sure which to believe.? I had blood work done 3 years ago and the results came back that I had a 6.81 TSH and was sent to an endocrinologist, who described it as almost dead. He then ordered a second set of test to verify and it came back a little over 4, but wanted to me return in six months, which I did not do as the first visit and two sets of blood work had cost a fortune, with insurance. I started getting dry eyes about a year ago and at times it is unbearable. In the past six months I've noticed that I've been losing hair faster and it is significantly thinner lately. I'm also tired a lot and feel depressed. It occurred to me that it could be my thyroid. I had my thyroid tested last week and the TSH came back at 5.438. I have read differing 'normals' online and many medical articles have said that 'normal' was changed a few years ago and a TSH above 3.0 with symptoms are now treated, but other articles still list up to 5.0 and even 5.5 as the 'normal' high.

What are my rights to access online info for my widowed mother's finances my brother controls? Our dad passed 2 years ago. I mostly take care of mom who has mild/moderate Alzheimer's. I usually see her 3 times a week, take her out to the stores, do groceries,lunch, handle all her medications and doctor visits. My brother handles some outside chores as needed, runs errands and set up her online banking. When he initially set it up I said I wanted access as well. Over time I have asked, but was given excuses about my computer safety not being as good as his (my husband is a computer specialist) etc. A wedding and back surgery distracted me until this week when I emailed him and directly asked for the info again. After two more attempts, he called today and said he wasn't going to give me access. Being the only two children, I told him we both have equal rights to mom's info to ensure her well-being and security. We both have Power of Attorney. I have no wish to interfere with him reconciling her statements, etc, but do want to be aware of her financial info--just as I make him aware of her medical, social and emotional issues. He was adamant that it's his job and I have no need to access it directly. We both accused each other of mistrust. I have never been as close to my brother as I wished and I fear this will put a huge wedge between us. He is involving my mom, who has limited short term memory and confusing her. I don't want to upset her with this. My dad wanted both of us to be executors of their wills. I conceded to my brother since he was the oldest. Now I worry. How do you respond to people who say "there's ALOT of bad info on the 'net"? I'm talking mostly about : 1. Professional people, like Vets, Drs, lawyers, who don't want to lose your money for their services. 2. Relatives and old people who are techno-phobic. They discount that there is medical research online from huge universities. (Not trying to diagnose myself or my pets, but I use the research and educated opinions from prof's on the Net to help form a decision). And then I get this statement thrown at me. How do you respond to it logically? To give you one exampe of how "good" the 'net can be, I actually won a law suit when someone sued me thanks to legal brainstorming by nice people on a forum! They taught me how to act as my own lawyer (it was just Small Claims Court); I did; and I won. I should pay those people who helped me. This is part of all the "terrible" stuff. I know there is bad info, but I'm not stupid enough to read some dummy's opinion that is not backed up and go on everything I read.

When will they come up with an online pregnancy test? With all the advances we have in modern medicine...I am truly suprised that nobody has thought of this until now. My wife is going to school and will graduate from college...ONLINE I pay all my bills and conduct banking...ONLINE I can diagnose my own medical conditions and order medicine...ONLINE With the alarming rate of teenage pregnancies combined with the normal rate of birth in this country online pregnancy tests are the way to go. I don't sweat at all. Is there a medical condition for this? I have never sweated (just my armpits, lower back, and lower stomach get a little moist, but not enough to trickle down my body). Even when I'm mowing my lawn in 90 degree heat with 70% humidity, I don't sweat. I can't even lay out in the sun for 5 minutes and I get really sick, dizzy, nauseated, etc. I'm not dehydrated at all. My aunt has this problem too, she can't be out in the sun as she doesn't sweat, either. Is there a medical condition/disease that causes this? I can't find any info online except for HED (Hypohidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia), and it doesn't sound like anything I have. I get really hot all the time, where my face feels like a fever. I wake up really hot and nauseated at night. I have to have a fan on me at all times, and the AC in the winter, as well as a wet rag to cool me down. It's like I can't cool my body down. If anyone can point me to a specific disease/disorder this relates to before I speak to my doctor, I'd greatly appreciate it. I want to be informed.

Medical Discharge. Who pays? The Army Nat. Guard or the VA? I'm not really sure how to go about getting benefits. I was talking to someone else who says that when you are in the Guard either the VA pays you, or the Army does. It's either one or the other. I'm trying to figure out the options that are available to me so I can move on. The Army gave me a 20% disability and the VA gave me a 10%.
