Online Medical Classes

Is medical school classes offered through on line, or even night classes?

I am finishing up a Bachaelor degree in Business Management and realized that I want to be a Dermatologist. The problem is I need to start with a full time job and so I was trying to see if their is a way to take some of the medical classes I need online as a starter. And if so how many years am I looking at? Do I go right in to science classes? Any kind of information is extremely helpful! :)

  1. There is no possible way you can work even a part-time job and go to medical school or do it online. If you ever find an online medical school I can guarantee you it is a scam and is not accredited by the AMA. How would you dissect a cadaver or learn how to do lab work over the Internet? Medical school takes 4 years (there are no part-time programs) plus your residency, which is 3 to 8 years.
  2. I don't think so.... plz answer my quest...http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoQ5UUD4Cfkka61QicESB.Hsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080220192721AAQtJGw
  3. find the Med school you think you will be able to go to..............Get the sylabis of the courses.....see if they will accept any from another place...........I don't think you have a chance.but give it a try.......MD is not part time........
  4. I am assuming you are referencing the premed courses. Yes, there are online courses from accredited schools. The ones I am familiar with are offered through the state of Georgia's education system and are called eCore. Many universities offer what are called Post Bacc premed programs that you can attend on a part time basis. If you attended on a full time basis it would take two semesters, at least, to complete the courses. But there are no online medical school classes. There may be some unscrupulous ads alleging that they offer these courses but I can guarantee you that you would waste your money. People confuse the fact that medical schools are increasingly using the Internet as an adjunct to classroom instruction, but there isn't an entire class that is offered online by any medical school (at least by a US accredited school). More importantly, at this time, the FSMB (the Federation of State Medical Boards) does not recognize any online credits. That means that if you find an online class and submit it as part of your qualifying education, no state medical board will license you.
