Where can I take an online Medical Transcription course that has software compatible with a Mac OSX?
I really want to become a medical transcriptionist, however, when I look up online schools, (i have to do this from home b/c I am a stay at home mom, no babysitters and daycare is entirly to expensive), I cannot find one that has the footpedal compatible with a Mac.

- Get a Usenet program, also called an internet news or NNTP program (there are many free ones), and subscribe (it's free) to sci.med.transcription. The people there are medical transcriptionists, often with a few decades of experience, and are usually more than glad to help newcomers. Many of them started as stay at home moms, so they can help you from your own viewpoint.
- I think you have to ask the people who are offering the course. Here I found one and it has a toll-free number, maybe they can assist you with your question. http://www.mtathome.com/ For more try this Google search, hopefully someone will meet your needs. http://moourl.com/gs7mq
- Hi, You can check www.andhrascribe.com for online medical transcription course. You can check aamt.org for further details.
- Most WAV pedals are for PCs not MACs. You can get an emulator program and the Bytescribe pedal could be used for that. Also, I believe the HPI pedal can be used w/ any computer and you could download and try the FREE Express Scribe software to see if it will work on a MAC. I know Meditec.com has some students using the MAC computer. Your best bet would be to buy a cheap used PC for your training.
