what are good ways to get your dad to let you get another dog?

I have one dog and I teach him tricks all the time and he listens to me when I tell him to stop barking and stuff. I train him all the time and he is getting better at stuff. I play with him all the time and the only thing my dad has to do is feed him because the smell of dog food makes me sick! Also my mom is fine with it, I found a dog for FREE online but he still won't let me get a dog! So does anyone know of a really good way to convince their parent to let them have a dog?

1. even free dogs still need vet care... which is not free. Who will take care of both dogs when you move out or go to college?
2. I find that growing up and moving out of the house works best. :) Seriously hon, just be happy with the dog you've got for now. Sounds like you're doing a great job. Work on that dog food/smell thing though.
3. Ask Dad why you can't have another dog. Maybe one dog is all they can handle as far as expenses go. Maybe your house is too small for another dog. Maybe they are afraid you will start neglecting your first dog. Just talk to them and see what their reasons are.
4. The reason the dog is free is probably because he hasnt been neutered, had his shots, isnt socialized, ect. Why do all kids think they NEED a dog even if their parents get sick from them, have dog problems, ect. Why? Dr. Dog
5. Move out become an adult and realize that more often than not free dogs usually come with a hidden several high thousands dollar vet "fee". He pays the bills he makes the rules, don't like it? Move out or wait until you can move out.
6. try the next best thing go to a local no kill shelter and play with all of those dogs and teach them tricks and take them for nice long walks most of those animals at the no kill shelter have no one to tend to them it would be fun and educational and they may just help you out with a vet bill if you volunteer on a regular basis
