What is the best way to market a transcription business?
Hi, Me and my business partner are starting a new Medical Transcription business and I have sent out fliers and business cards and I have a website. I know the site is getting hits because I signed up with a service that checks that, but I have not received a single phone call or email. What else could I possibly be doing to get clients? Thanks in advance.

- Are you advertising your experience and education in medical transcription to get people interested? Are you giving away an hour or so of dictation for free for them to try you out? These might help.
- There's a website where you can advertise for free.
- You might want to visit this blog. It contain some valuable information regarding your problem that you might be able to take away from http://www.sredael.com
- Please make sure that your grammar is correct in your marketing materials. Using incorrect grammar such as "Me and my business partner" could be part of the problem. Try visiting some offices or hospitals in person. You could borrow a page from the drug reps and bring promos such as free pens or post-its with your business name on them or bring some munchies for the office staff. Try a jar of candy with a label with your business name and number on it. Anything that provides some opportunity to make personal contact with them could be helpful. If they are not looking to outsource completely, you could offer to take up slack on their extra work as a back-up solution. It could get your foot in the door. Are your rates competitive with other firms? Is your system easy for the physicians to use and access? Does it integrate with theirs?
- How many mailings were sent out? Usually one will send in batches of 250. You may need to send 500 to land 1 client. Are you following up with telephone calls? Cold calling is a way to get clients as well. Are you soliciting just locally or more regionally? It takes perseverance. Hang in there.
