What personal, academic, and professional benefits do you receive from recognizing medical terms?

In other words how would someone in the medical profession, benefit from knowing what medical terms are?

1. If you are talking about medical - ie latin names believe it or not these are commonly used terms and without some knowledge it is hard for anyone to play a significant health care role. Can a nurses aid get by not knowing - sure. Can a nurse? not very easily. Can a PA? Not at all. Some professions within medicine use them much more than others.
2. If you are not aware of important medical terms, chances are you probably will not even make it into the medical field.
