national youth leadership forum on medicine HELP!!?
i was nominated by a teacher to participate in the national youth leadership forum on medicine.. i have done a lot of research about it online, and it sounds exciting and i know i will learn a ton BUT i aspire to become a phsical therapist.. not a surgeon or doctor. Has anyone that is interested in PT experienced this, and do you have information/personal experience stories about the NYLF on med? THANKS in advance!!!

- I am a physician, but I was a physical therapist and am currently licensed to do both. I just don't practice using my PT license. That being said I would always do my best to keep as many options open as I can. Even if it is a huge waste of time, and it won't be, I would make sure that my attendance at a medical leadership anything made it to my application to PT school. NYLF/MED will expose you to a lot of areas of medicine, and PT is one segment of medicine. I would also keep your mind open to other areas that may interest you in medicine. PT is a great field but there are many facets to medicine and many great areas to contribute to medicine, so keep your eyes open. It will be a great experience. They will also have fun events for you to attend/participate in, should be a blast.
