Online Medical Classes

Studying Homeopathy?

I would like to learn homeopathic medicine, however I cant find any good books on the subject. And every place I have tried online to learn a little, either had no information, or no information unless you wanted to pay for it. Im short on money, so I am trying to figure out a way to study this without having to pay a whole lot.

  1. You can't learn Homeopathic medicine from books alone. It takes 3- 4 years at college to train to be a Homeopath in the UK. If you just want to learn for your own interest try contacting local Homeopaths to see if anyone does any Homeopathic first aid courses. There will be a charge of some sorts but definitely worth it !
  2. I think Polly's answer is basically right. A number of Naturopaths are trained in homeopathy - usually after their basic medical school training. A lot of graduates of medical schools go on for many years to train in homeopathy. On the Yahoo group ClassicalHomeopathy/Pets Magda Aquilar offers an introductory course for about $300. You may not be particuarly interested in veterinary homeopathy and the terminology and remedies are the same for animals as for people. And you can do that online. Hahnemann's "Organon" is of course the "bible" of homeopathy and it is VERY difficult reading (reminds me of my two and three hour daily sessions with Latin translation in high school for four years.) It is not something you learn from books. Like a medical school education there is a lot of course work which involves textbooks in basic subjects and the true knowledge of how to use the remedies comes from practicums working with experienced practitioners. You can't just pick up a book on anatomy and follow it to perform surgery. Education and certification in the field of homeopathy is expensive, just as all education is after you get out of public school.
  3. ◙ check with your local library and see what books they have. if they don't have a wide selection, see if they offer Inter-Library Loaning. two-two has spoken

  5. homeopathy is treating people by administrating minute doses of drugs right? its quite similar to treating people without drugs. if you're short on money, you could always learn the basics from books on reflexology, quantum touch, or acupressure
