Online Medical Classes

I have a question about college, please read?

Ok, I have been having trouble deciding what i want to major in, ive tried business, veterinary medicine, culinary arts, childhood education, but idk what I really want to do so I was thinking of getting an associates degree in general studies, do you think it would be a smart idea to do that? what type of job can I get if i have a degree in general studies? I am pregnant right now so i was thinking distant learning, any online schools that are good? any I should stay away from? I live in NJ by the way so i would do half online and half campus too. Also what are some of the pros and cons of distant learning?

  1. I would say do what you want but go for the non-general. I would also try to stay away from online schooling if possible.
  2. I didn't really know what I wanted to do when I was in college either, so I wanted a major that didn't tie me down to one job. I majored in Psychology because it was interesting, applicable to many jobs, and didn't require math (just statistics). I would recommend you do that, or Sociology. If employers just see General Studies on your Education, they'll think you're unfocused. I would also say to stay away from online courses; you would probably do better with more direction.
  3. i don't know if you already decided to go to a 2 year college, but if you can get into a 4 year college (regular, or community college) you should major as undecided. yes you can consider this as a general studies major, in which you have a deadline of 2 years to choose a real major. most students eventually pick a major after a semester or a year. when you see the programs that are offered in your school & classes you like surely you'll have no problem switching to another major. 40% of students are undecided when entering college & almost half eventually switch majors within the 4 years, so don't worry you're not the only one. best of luck!
