Online Medical Classes

good example of government-run healthcare, do you remember the despicable condition of Walter Reed?

to those that say Americans pay more for their healthcare: Of course we pay more! but we also have more privacy, much more choice, the most advanced hospitals in the world. the best doctors in the world immigrate to the US to work because of our free enterprise system. Of course we pay more, because we can get first-class service here, as opposed to coach class in other countries !!!! Ours is a country based on individual freedom and choice not society's good. we will not abandon our freedoms because of some STAT a bureaucratic found somewhere that a few more infants died in the US (higher infant mortality) well, that maybe because we have fewer abortions. but even now, no hospital in the US would refuse care to a delivering mother or her infant including illegal immigrants. so your argument is totally bogus. WE WILL NEVER LET GO OF OUR FREEDOMS BECAUSE OF RED SOCIALIST IDEAS. THIS IS NOT CANADA, CUBA, ETC. TAKE YOUR RED SOCIALIST IDEAS AWAY. PLEASE EVERYONE WRITE YOUR CONGRESSMEN. ht Don't Answer This Question if you are not American. http://washingtontimes.com/news/2009/may/08/a-cure-worse-than-the-disease/ Under socialist medicine, or its more misleading names like "single-payer", or "Universal Healthcare", do you know every hospital could look like that? you NO longer will have access to specialists, because a low-wage family doctor would have to see you first and determine if you have the "need". You will have no choice of hospital. And under "single" payer, it will be banned to pay a specialist or hospital privately to get past the line or low quality of care, because only a "single" entity, the government is allowed to pay for care. they will fine you and the doctor if they find out you jumped your queue or ration by paying extra. my fellow Americans these things are happening in Canada everyday.

  1. I remember. Heckuva job bushie!
  2. Who cares what you think? You lost. We will do as we please.
  3. They ignore the facts, that's the bottom line. People are going to die waiting to be seen by doctors, the standards will drop across the board, what intelligent person is going to pay tens of thousands of dollars to attend medical school only to get out, get a job, and make less than $40,000 per year? I don't see how anyone would think this would be in the best interest for the people of America. It is downright scary to think about
  4. Apples & oranges and you haven't a clue about the health care program in Canada, nor do you have a clue about what form that "universal health care" will take.
  5. Yes, liberals want us all to be equally miserable and they practically have an orgasm when they imagine imposing such conditions on every American who they perceive as having any advantage at all over the laziest bum who refuses to work for food.
  6. Hahahaha-any military personel could tell you stories about that place that would make your blood curdle. Peace
  7. As a Widow of a Veteran I CAN tell You for a Fact that it is because Of Republican budget cuts to the VA. For years the VA was a darn good medical institution until Republicans took over .
  8. See for yourself what Ronald Reagan said about socialized medicine. listen to this great American in his own voice. the wise earlier Americans knew what was coming and they warned us. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iShCXx_xZDQ The answer to healthcare problems is less government involvement, not more.
  9. If you are not a paying customer and have no choice about were you go for treatment, expect the service to be crap.. And there's not a damn thing you can do about it. Gov health care is the biggest mistake we could make.
  10. Actually America has a shorter life span than most nations, higher infant mortality and an higher abortion rate than many nations. Having live in the USA as a Canadian and living of course in Canada I have had the opportunity to explore both health care systems and I must admit, I like Canada's a whole lot better. In the USA, having asthma a repetitive strain injury and a few other very minor issues I was actually not able to choose my course of treatment. With the RSI, I had found that Physiotherapy worked best for me, however my insurance would only cover cortisone injections, which did nothing for me and has a side effect of making me ill. If I wanted the treatment I needed I paid. In Canada, I call the shots. I get physiotherapy. Heck my very inexpensively supplemental insurance will also allow me to get deep tissue stimulation and acupuncture. Being asthmatic, my insurance company would not cover peak flow monitoring, It would not cover the medication which worked best in managing my asthma, it also wouldn't cover a yearly check up with a respiratory therapist. In Canada I am on the medication which works best for me, I see a respiratory therapist to monitor my lung capacity (and also learn breathing techniques) which help me better manage asthma. I have a strong family history of breast Cancer, most women in my family are diagnosed by 35. So we start getting mammogram at 18. Not only could I not get a mammogram covered in my mid 20's based upon family history my insurance excluded breast cancer treatments. So really, the insurance that I paid through the teeth for, really didn't cover what I needed. I had little control over my treatments. My insurance company even went as far as assigning me a doctor. In Canada I pick my care, I pick my doctor, I pick my hospital. I am in charge of my health. Canada health care works upon urgency of care. If I have a condition which required attention I don't wait. I fainted a couple weeks ago and was in for an MRI the next day to rule out Epilepsy and any other Neurological issues. That is some pretty good care if you ask me. I can pick up the phone and make an appointment with a specialist and if they prefer are referral my very good primary care physician(who I choose) will simply call them on my behalf. I suggest you learn a thing or two from the people who actually use a universal health care system before critiquing it. I have heard outright lies on TV and Radio about the Canadian health care system. Americans are being fed a pile of misinformation by those who oppose affordable health care. Talk to a Canadian, they have nothing to gain or loose by telling you how their health care works. You are going to get an honest answer. All of the fear and smear campaigns regarding universal health care are probably coming directly from the PR departments of Kaiser Permanante.
  11. - Proposed National Healthcare legislation does not take away your right to seek healthcare of your own choosing. If you want to purchase your own plan, you are able to. - There are significant numbers of hard working Americans who are one health care crisis away from bankruptcy/ruin. Like the auto manufacturers, banks & real estate/mortgage lenders, the Health Insurance industry has gone too far with unchecked greed. Here is my example: I hope you read this through: This happened 1/mo. ago. We have a PPO w/ a high deductible. We are generally very healthy & as we own our own small business it is the best we can do. The insurance pays for doctors checkups and percentages of other services. My daughter hit the back of her head, after being hit w/ an 8lb. weight while training for athletics. Took her to urgent care covered by our PPO. Waited for 2 hours to see the doctor. He determined she needed a CT scan. Told us it would cost $1000 out of pocket - in addition to the 70% our insurance would pay......I freaked out. I can't afford the test! Asked if there were any other test they could do, they said no - she needed that test. The nurse took pity on me and said - hang on .....came back and said, if you pay this as though you don't have insurance, it will cost $389.................. Guys - what is wrong with this picture........So, how much is the CT Scan........$1000 plus the 70% or $389............. We need some kind of regulation on this stuff...........my God - how much would it have cost if she had a long-term care situation? We would quickly be homeless.......oh, and I guess then be shunned for needing welfare & unemployment - since we wouldn't be able to run our business w/ out a home........ Yes. We need National healthcare. We need healthcare reform We need it....yesterday.
  12. Our system has it's good points and bad points. We do have the right for the most part to choose, however, most insurance policies give you an "in-network" list of doctors you can see. Oh you can go out of network but will pay more. The one thing that needs to be addressed in our health care system is the astronomical prices that we pay. Why do you think doctors come from all over to practice in the U.S. Because they can get rich. I know medical school is expensive, hard, and grueling. Doctors should be paid well, but the prices we pay today for adequate health care is ridiculous. Health insurance premiums are rising exponetialy. People who could afford it yesterday cannot afford it today. Companies that used to offer insurance as a benefit to it's workers now don't or if they do it is crazy expensive. Is universal health care the answer, I don't know. I do know that something needs to be done in our country for the people who have no health care. And please don't give the typical right wing answer "get your lazy but out and go to work" Most of the poor people in today's society do work, sometimes two and three jobs to make ends meet and still cannot afford health insurance. I had health insurance my entire adult career. I lost my job 2 years ago. I paid through cobra until I could not afford it anymore. The job that I have now does not offer health care. When I try and purchase health care it is way to expensive for us. I am working my but off just to get by. I have resume after resume posted trying to get back in my field. The only thing i hope for is I don't get sick before I am able to get insurance again. I live in fear. What would happen to my family? My family doctor who took care of myself, wife, and children for so many years now wont even see us. That is unless we have the cash money up front to pay.
  13. First of all, Obama is not going to bring in universal healthcare. He wants to make insurance more available to all. Second, of course universal health-cover sucks. That is why we in Western Europe have it. We think, hmm, our healthcare system sucks. I know, lets keep it. I guess that is the same with Japan and Canada as well. FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet. FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage. That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.
