Anyone know Where I Can Get This Online? Sorry If This Is A Stupid Answer.?
Ok, please no one flame me. But I'm trying to look for heartworm medicine for my dog, Sweetpea. Where we live there are no vets, so I'm trying to find medicine for her online, good medicine, not anything with terrible side effects or anything like that. I would bring her to a vet, but there are none where we live. It's not my fault. It was either move here or have no home. I want to get her Heartguard Plus, but it says it goes up to 25 pounds. Little Sweetpea is 10 MAYBE 12 pounds, so would that be too much? And if I can't get that does anyone know of any other site I can go on that legit and won't give me meds to hurt her? I'm very worried about her getting heartworms. My Husband and I live in the middle of nowhere and there are hundreds of mosquitoes around, so I'm very worried she will get heartworms, but I can't take her to a vet. Again, please don't flame me. I was put in a position where I had no choice to move here and there just are no vets in the area. Can someone please help me out without flaming me? I'm sorry if I'm sounding rude, but I've posted questions about things of this nature before and without knowing my circumstances people started flaming me and called me a terrible pet owner. Some even suggested she be taken away from me. I'm doing everything I can to keep her nice and healthy and happy...so if any one can help me out here, recommend a site that's legit (I'm just learning how to shop on the internert it's the only way I can shop now) I would very much appreciate it. Heck, I might even owe you one back. Thank you.

- If your dog is over 6 months old or you have not used any heartworm medication for over 4 months do NOT use them on your dog without having her tested first. To do so may KILL your dog if she has adult worms present.

- ebay.com has just about every pet product you will ever need.
- we give our two dogs heartgaurd. it's a monthly tablet that they chew. but you really should take your dog to the vet to get it tested first and get their opinion.
- I personally use Sentinel. It's for heart worms and fleas.Check out these sites. http://www.1800petmeds.com/ http://www.petcarerx.com/ http://totalpetsupply.com/ http://vetmedicines.com/ This is just a few of the places you can go to compare prices. My dogs weigh 8.5lbs and10.5 lbs.
- First of all, 1800 pet meds is NOT the cheapest. My vet actually sold medication for cheaper than them! I would have your pet tested first before putting them on medication. Keep in mind that heartwork isn't the only worm to worry about...but also hook worm and tape worms. These can all be tested for in fecal, blood, and urine testing. GET IT DONE first. The medications I use are K9 Advantix and Heartguard. K9 advantix protects against fleas and ticks, and also mosquitoes which transmit the heartworm. So its dual protection to use that AND the heartworm treatment. Then you want to get a de-wormer. My vet always recommended this because you can never be too sure. They are cheap, and the dogs take them easily. Walmart sells them for $10 a bottle that can last 6 months at 10ml. The website I use is listed below. They fax the prescription information to your vet, and do the rest from there. It ended up being the cheapest, most reliable mode to order the stuff. Good luck!
- Unfortunately, ur dog needs to have a heart worm test before u give her the preventative medication. If she has heartworms (which would be impossible for u to know without a blood test) and you give her the preventative medication, it will kill her. as far as what kind to get her and weight restrictions, there is a site you can go to (i use it all the time) to ask a registered vet what he would suggest. http://www.vetclick.com/forum/index.php Hope this helps :)
- Sorry, but you need a prescription from a Vet to buy heartworm medicine. A Vet will need to see your dog & do a heartworm test before they will write a script.
