Online Medical Classes

Medical Assistant from online school...good idea or bad?

I am thinking about enrolling in an online Medical Assistant class. Anyone have experience with that? I know they are in demand and jobs can be found everywhere. But will it really be well received that I earned it online?...They say it only takes 6-8 Weeks. Any feedback is appreciated! Oooh Amanda....haha...been there done that. I guess you still must learn. Good luck. Eric..thanks but why exactly would I be interested in educated provided to people in the military. I'm not in the military nor do I even slightly support it.

  1. As about as bad an idea as I can think of. How will you do the whole lab part? Give shots, do vitals, draw blood etc?? That online course may just be the front office part. And, not all MAs are in demand & always find a job--this is partly dependent on where you are. In many many cities, the market is completely flooded. Be careful about this.
  2. Clinicals are an important part of the MA program. Most MD's won't hire you unless you have hands on experience. Be wary of online schools. The only online medical instruction I trust is listed below. It's a college that works with the military to help soldiers get degrees while they're still in. They have an RN and a BSN program. The clinicals are held in several hospitals nationwide (for ease of completion.) They require some medical experience before you begin, but you can do the whole thing there (A&P and Microbiology too.)
