  1. Do not take any on line classes......they are worthless.......I wouldn't even consider your application....
  2. The best bet is to talk with your Social Security person, and see how much money you're able to get for the training. There are no opportunities unless you get a grant or assistance from the social security etc., for you to be able to take the training. There is no such thing as a "low income" class. You have to pay the amount that they would like you to pay or you just won't be able to do the full training for this area. Good luck:)
  3. Check here for free Medical Transcription Tutorials
  4. I know that Meditec.com takes very low down payments and very low monthly payments.
  5. You will be wasting your time and your money if you don't attend an AHDI-approved school and complete the entire curriculum. It's very difficult to break into medical transcription unless you attend a school with an excellent reputation, good relationships with employers in the industry, and a placement program. The least expensive program will not be of much benefit to you, nor will a partial curriculum, if your goal is to eventually be employed as a medical transcriptionist. I suggest you go to the AHDI site and visit the web sites of the approved schools to see which one fits your budget. Many of them have payment programs and loans.
  6. I know that some schools will take payments to help you. A couple hundred a month may be more doable than paying it all up front. There are some funding opportunities out there right now. There is a MyCAA program that will pay for schooling in a high-growth career for military spouses, funding for residents of the state of Michigan for schooling. You can always contact the school to see if they can work with you on an arrangement. Here is a link to a demo of a course that I ended up going with. http://www.careerstep.com/demo-mt/?uid=a1403 You can call them and see if they can work something out with you.
