Why everyone is going into Healthcare business?

Ok so in NJ I'd say 60-70 percent of college students are taking healthcare courses because of the economic standards of the nation today. What is wrong with everyone? I worry about the future of this country sometimes.. I mean will we even have people interested in politics and government in the future? Will we even have a decent president in the future? No were gonna be stuck with kids who want to land jobs as docs and nurses and most of them aren't going to get it. Ofcourse this is a good thing too because this means that those who are interested in politics and other fields got the advantage because there will be more demands. On top of the career choices these students are making, will their personalities and attitudes be able to keep up with guiding this nation? What are everyones views on these matters.
