Has anyone studied the extent to which Malparactise suits increase the present cost of healthcare?
That's Malpractise, of course. Insurance companies pay most of the settlements and increase premiums accordingly. Insurance premiums increase doctors' cost of doing business, so doctors pass that cost along to the patients.

- About 2% of overall insurance costs account for malpractice related reimbursement... where as 23% of costs are marketing related.
