- You at some point would have to be trained by SOMEONE to do the real stuff. AT this point there are no laws really governing MAs per se, as they are unlicensed & and work under the docs license, at will. In reality. however, you will have an extremely hard time getting a job without any hands on experience & most places do not want to spend the time teaching you--they expect the MAs to already know how to do all the clinical tasks they are trained to do. You would be competing with MAs for a job that can do those things as well--who would you hire? Someone who has done injections, venipunctures, ear irrigations, dressing changes, etc for real, or someone who saw it on the internet? So, yes, this is probably a waste of time.
