How much important is the knowledge of math and science in medical transcription?

I am looking to go into Medical Transcription. I am strong in my English, typing, grammar, and memorization, but not so strong in math or Science. How much of that knowledge would be required in this field? Thanks!

  1. Very little. . . .. The big thing will be remember the medical codes for the treatments. No real math or science required.
  2. Medical Transcription means we have to hear to the dictation and type(transcribe) on msword document. If you are good at English, no need to worry about science (terminology). There is no question of math in this.
  3. You will need to learn basic units of measurement and how to express them in a report, such as grams (G), milligrams (mg), liters (L), milliliters (ml), etc. Each specialty will have its particular nuances, such as radiology vs. pathology, etc. But as for really knowing math and science, it's not really necessary. There's a lot more about this field on the website below, including how to choose a course of study.
