What college degree is earned when you go thru Medical Transcription training?

- You'll need to look at the individual colleges that offer this program. I believe this is normally a certificate program (no degree). If you decide to go this route, you may want to look into accreditation so that if you decide to continue your education (even if you earn a degree) the credits will be recognized and transfer.
- It depends on what level of education you decide to pursue. Medical transcription training can lead to a certificate, associate's or bachelor's degree, either in medical transcription or a related field such as medical billing.
- You don't get a degree in MT. You go through vocational training to learn MT w/ a certificate or diploma. Now, you can get an HIM degree in health information management.
- You usually get a certificate in Medical Transcription instead of a degree. You can take an MT course through a college or a reputable training company. This link is to a training program offered by a very reputable company and they even offer job placement assistance after you graduate. http://www.careerstep.com/?uid=a1403
- Medical transcription programs are vocational. Some community colleges offer certificate programs in medical transcription, but you have to complete the education requirements for an AA degree, and there is no medical transcription major.
