Online Medical Classes

medical science/medicine/pharmacy?

im currently interested in applying for the degrees mentioned at university (i start next year) i love learning i find it extremely stimulating and rewarding, but i also love having a social life and i am quite good at balancing, but the stereotypes of studying medicine or pharmacy have made me a bit apprehensive. i was reading a few online forums and they mention not having social lives etc im quite stuck, i don't know what to do due to the nature of the courses im interested in and my personal life. are they any success stories or fellow students who maintain balance well??? is there hope

  1. If you're thinking that the demands of medical or pharmacy studies are too great, then you're too immature to even attempt them. If you think you must have a grand and glorious social life while in college, study psychology - that's a shallow-enough discipline that you can screw around and still get that degree...
  2. Well, I'm MBBS undergraduate and enjoying both the life at college and social life together and smoothly.. so this is out of question. You have your 10-12 hours in the college except a few emergencies in a week.. and rest 12 hours are your own and i am sure that anyone could have a good balance using this time in their social lives. and what social life is? i think its visit to your friends and their homes or somewhere else. to attend various marriage ceremonies, parties etc.(not everyday) and you can easily go around and could have good fun with your friends and relatives.
  3. Medicine= Study 24/hours......I assure you... If ur seeking to have a social life, medicine will be an impediment that hampers ur will.
  4. personally i chose pharmacy coz its not really gonna effect ur social life in the long run. once u start being a doctor pretty much kiss ur social life goodbye. in pharmacy, if ur naturally smart, a couple ours a day, or even just a few hours on a weekend day should tie u over in terms of passing. as for good marks, then u'll need to really apply urself. obviously workload and study time is going to increase as u continue the degree, but if ur just looking to pass, as long as ur studying regularly, you should have plenty of time for socialising.
  5. Yes,you can have a social life.Study for a couple hours each day and then go out with your friends!
