  1. try to use the help that comes with excel. If you want to go cheap and not free, look for a used book of (excel for dummies) I know someone who used that and it worked great.
  2. There is a book MS Excel for Dummies; its a good book, you can get it in your school/college library
  3. try out microsoft website.
  4. Go to Microsoft.com they have a hugh variety of helpful and useful information and downloads for free.
  5. Be more practical. It is very user-friendly. WHy do you have to depend on online training materils -- these are for the advanced stage which involves complex methods like conditional formulae, sharing workbook, etc. etc. Go step by step it is a pleasure to learn MS Excel. Good Luck !
  6. i suggest getting a hot tutor
  7. consult a computer teacher!
  8. You can really use for a long run accounts of personal, accounts riunning say for upto 5 years are so.
  9. Take a class at a community college. Or, just mess around with the program, that is how I learn most software packages... trial and error. The little paperclip dude can usually answer any questions I have.
  10. probably the best way to learn the basics is to have a problem that would require some adding, subtracting, listing... and open up Excel and try it out. Some hints to get you going. It's made up of rows and columns (obviously) and EVERY text refers to excel in this fashion. if you type in a 'cell' 2+2 and hit enter, you'll get 2+2 if you type in a 'cell' =2+2 and hit enter, you'll get 4 an = sign indicates you're doing a formula (yeah, I know it's backwards...) Do a Google on "Excel tutorial" and you'll get a bunch of hits.. find one that is right for you. good luck
