Online Medical Classes

This is really scaring me! Can people really become doctors this way?

So I just read a question by someone who got an MD from an online school and wanted to know if someone can sit for the exams for his medical certification if they had his driver's license. Can people really become doctors that way? This really scares me. Thanks guys!

1. No, it's impossible. To sit for the board exams, and also for state license exam, the applicant must come from an accredited medical school which will be verified. Residency programs are also equally stringent. Hospitals also verify the doctor's record as well. My hospital, where I did my residency many years ago, required a physical original med school diploma to be handed in person, no mail, fax or xerox copy. Many hospitals had issues in the past with fake doctors, so this is one way to make sure.
2. no! you cannot become an MD this way. first of all;, no one could use his license to sit for his exam. he would have to take it himself. also MD's,have to do inhouse training in a hospital for years before they can become a doctor. dont worry. someone is joking with you. if this was true--there would be a lot more MDs in this world. have a good night.
