My mom won't let me get a dog?

Okay so I really really want a dog I love dogs soooo much when we go over to peoples houses and they have a dog i spend almost the whole time playing with them. I even love researching breeds, training, tips, and caring for dogs online in my free time. I have this Legacy Of The Dog breed book and I love looking through it and reading about the dogs plus walks are really fun to me and my friend has a puppy that she has to take care of all on her own cuz she wanted the dog and she is fine with it and really responsible about it i feel i can be do. but i think it is because we used to have a Jack Russel Terrier named Jackie(lol) and she was crazy, untrained, a stray, pooped everywhere, bit you, and scratched and chased you, but not all dogs are like that cuz my mom for some reason doesnt understand that. ugh i already went on convincing parents to get you a dog thing but thats not the problem the problem is that she doesnt like dogs cuz of Jackie i need help on how to help her like dogs again(she used to) and that all dogs arent like Jackie??? i think she would love a great family pet. :-(

  1. Well, maybe tell your mom to come to a dog shelter and just visit the animals? Or, go to these websites, its pretty easy to find a free animal! www.craigslist.org www.kijiji.com www.oodle.com
  2. Respect your mothers decision, its her house and her money that would go to the dog, wait until you're on your own to get one.
  3. JRT's are very energetic, high-strung dogs! Most people think that dogs/puppies are either 'good' or 'bad' by their behavior. Puppies come into the world not knowing anything--and 'behave' the way they do because of their training--or lack thereof. The cost and responsibility of a dog would go to your mom--and it can be very costly. between puppy visits, and skin disorders and allergies, my chi cost me over a thousand dollars the first year of his life! puppy classes, crate training, feeding, monthly flea and tick prevention, and monthly wormers--it all adds up.
  4. How old are you? Moms right. bl
