Online Medical Classes

Medical billing online work from home?

I have been doing medical billing for well over 25 years. I have current CPT and ICD 9 books as well as medical dictionaries etc. I would like to do medical billing from home. We live in a very small community and there are just no jobs available. I'm trying to raise two children, and I was told that this might be an option if you can find the right companies. I have a friend, that works with a man whom has a sister that does this work from home herself, but she is unwilling to share the information. She said that the more people that get into this business the less money she will make. All she will say is that the work is out there you just have to know where to look. Everything I find online is more like classes and you have to pay for information on other sites. Can someone please point me in the right direction. I'm a hard worker, I take pride in my work, and I'm very dedicated. lee * I don't need the billing classes, as I've said I've been doing medical billing and insurance collections and reviews for years, with a very good track record.

  1. Lee, You can build an at home medical billing service without any problem. I've practiced as a chiropractor since 1994 and my present billing service happens to be local, but they don't need to be. There are more doctor's offices, massage practitioners, acupuncturists, medical doctor's offices to go around. You get to choose who you would like to work with the most. What you would need is a computer, the internet, a medical billing software program...and I'm sure there is other things, but that would get you started. You have to choose whether you want to bill over the internet (which is where most are going now) or paper bills with postage. Your experience is valuable because doctors/practitioners want skilled billing agencies because time is money and we want to get those checks turned back around as quickly as possible. All you have to do is get your name out there...a webpage...Craig's list...phone calls to doctors offices asking if they need any billing assistance at this time. I am also going to leave this link http://www.EZWealthSystem4U.com. I've found this simple system to be an amazing answer to diversifying my income. You can take the Free Tour to learn more if you choose. It may answer some needs. You can build a great billing service business, take great care of your 2 children, staying in your small community and making really great money in a very short time. Wishing you the very best...make it a great day! DrDebbie
  2. Unfortunately, the major bulk of medical billing/coding work in the U.S. has been greatly curtailed by state privacy laws as it pertains to medical records and patient confidentiality. The vast majority of medical records are kept in recordkeeping departments within medical centers and any billing/coding work is done "in-house," not "outsourced." So, beware of any offers which promote online in home medical billing/coding work--there are scammers out there. Good luck!
