Do medical office managers wear scrubs?

Im attending online college for Medical Office Management. I never really thought about this question. Its pretty silly, lol but my husband asked me about it. I have no idea if I will be required to wear scrubs, Anyone know? Is it a mandatory thing? Or can we wear professional attire like suits? Only thing is that, I dont want to be seen as a wannabe nurse, u know? lol

  1. I know a lady who does that and she wears them. But I think it's a rule in that office; it might not be that way in all doctors' offices.
  2. Every place is different. But in the places I've been and worked, the office manager usually wears professional attire, not scrubs, as they are not providing patient care.
  3. I believe it will depend on where you work and exactly what your duties are. If you are not assigned any medical duties in the office and don't enter any areas where patients are being examined, then I don't see why you would be required to wear scrubs. I have seen office managers dressed both ways.
  4. Hi. Whether you will wear scrubs or suits it will depend solely on the rules and regulations especially in the dress code of your company and office. Ask your HR for the recommended office attire of your company. In addition there are scrubs today that don't look like scrubs anymore so don't worry if your company will choose scrubs as the dress-code lol :) take a look at this scrub: http://www.pulseuniform.com/itempicture/modelpicture/DI-15512LPML.jpg God bless..
