Can i take online classes to be an ultrasound tech?
i live in massachusetts and i am going to go to middlesex community college and i already have a baby. i think it would be easier for me since the baby will be almost one when i start school. Is it possible for me to take my courses online to get my Diagnostic Medical Sonography Associate Degree?

- No, that won't work for this type of degree. You could potentially take the pre-requisite courses online (before you get into the program). But none of the classes for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program will be offered online. It's a hands-on field and requires that you practice in the lab to learn scanning skills, how to work the equipment, and the protocols. Sonography is the most operator-dependent modality in imaging, so you definitely cannot learn that online. It takes hands-on practice. And by the way, these programs are notorious for being competitive, stressful, and time-consuming. Once you start the program it becomes like a full-time job. So make sure you have support from family/friends that will help you with baby-sitting even when you just need some quiet time to study. It will be difficult, but if you are committed and determined, you can do it. :) Make sure you find an accredited program: http://www.caahep.org/Find-An-Accredited-Program/ Good luck :)
- As I know, this site has top listing of such college courses online - schools.iblogger.org
