What else should we ask about for the dog?

What else should we ask about for the dog? What else should we ask about for the dog? ok so i went online and looked up "maltese recue in california" and i went on this site and found the cutest dog named samantha. and we emailed the guy! and i put: hello! me and my daughter are interested in the free puppy, Samantha! she is too adorable and cute! But, we have a quick question: how old is she? thx so much! and we r thinking of taking it. :) and then he put: hello!sorry for the late reply.thanks for your email,Samantha in question is just 12 weeks old and she is looking forward for a caring family to adopt it.please get back to me with where you live so i could arrange for her to be brought to you, thanks. ya so shes free and we want her. and she is up to date on shots, is 100% health guaranteed and is dewormed too! but we have to know a little about her and stuff so i set up an email and so far i have these questions: 1. is she poty trained and does she have basic training? 2. is she good with other dogs and kids? but thats it. what else should i ask?

  1. background health of the parents? do they have artheritis problems that will transfer to the puppy when she gets older will be puppy have life threatening genetic diseases?
  2. If she's coming from a rescue group, you should ask if they've spayed her yet. Granted, she is young for that, but many rescues do early sterilization in order to prevent unwanted litters. You also will need to find out her vaccine and de-worming history. At her age, she's probably hasn't finished her entire series of puppy shots, so you will need to complete her vaccinations after you get her home. Potty training will need to be continued after she arrives at your home. This is an ongoing training process that can take months for some dogs.
