Online Medical Classes

Where can I apply for an at home medical transcription job? I have previous medical transcription experience.

I have worked as an office based medical transcriptionist in the Pathology field for approximately 6 years. I am interested in working at home typing medical transcription.

  1. Put an ad in the paper, work wanted. Maybe you will get some calls. Or you can research it online at jobs.com maybe? I just graduated from college for this and I haven't looked for a job yet. My school said they would help me. I will also be working from home because I have children. Try your local doctors or hospitals and see if they can tell you anything. They may give you a job to do at home. We had a lady speaker come in to talk to us about jobs and she said she works in a hospital, and they give jobs for home. That's where I am going to look. Good Luck!
  2. Go to a several local staffing agencies. They can give you leads of offices that need a medical transcriptionist. Not every doctors office needs them so this will save you the step of calling all the doctors in the yellow pages to see if they need a transcriptionist. You don't have to pay anything for going through a staffing agency, the doctors office that hires you are required to cover all costs of hiring you. Good luck! Hope this helps!
  3. Real jobs can be found on MedicalTranscription.com. You can also list yourself in the directory for free.
  4. You need to go to http://workathomedesk.com/directory/transcription-jobs.htm which is a free site with a good comprehensive list of companies that hire transcriptionists. Hope this helps!
