  1. Age shouldn't be a barrier for what you really want to do. If you are willing to learn something at that age that shows that you want to succeed in it. You should do it!
  2. You absolutely can pursue a career in medical transcription at 51, or even older. I have a very good friend who enrolled at M-TEC (www.mtecinc.com) when she was in her late 50's. She is now in her early 60's, working as an MT, and very active in the professional association for medical transcription.
  3. Yes u r eligible. You should have good command over English Grammar and some keyboarding skill including typing. There are many good MT Training institutes that are imparting training in MT. Just go for a good one and make one thing sure that the training should not be less than 4-5 months otherwise you will feel frustruated. Meanwhile start with some typing software and enchance your typing skills which are mandatory to go for a good LPD (lines per day). The typing speed should touch at least 40 w.p.m. All the best. Just remember age is only a number it is your inner self that should be young and motivating.
