Does anyone remember Hilliary's previous movement to reform healthcare?

When Bill was first in office, she repeatedly promised to reform our private healthcare system. It was a big deal because no First Lady had been given so much media coverage for taking up such a cause and promising to personally deliver widespread reforms on 'behalf of and for the benefit of all Americans.' The media hype concerning Hilliary's promises concluded with new regulations precluding providers from having to abide by a variety of previous responsibilities plus, a variety of mandated new restrictions placed on provider services. Of course, the outcome of Hilliary's venture into healthcare reform received little media coverage. I remember watching just a few press releases on the new legislation and feeling lied to, cheated and deceived.

Public Comments

  1. It was a flop, big time
  2. Yeah, I remember that. Bush had similar success with Social Security reform.
  3. Haha, yes. Hillary-care
  4. I sure do. Since that time my out of pocket expenses increased and I pay more each and every month since she "took action". She is the biggest nastiest bag of wind in existance.
  5. Politicians only purpose is to get elected into office not matter what the cost is. They are all lieing whores to big business and bribes just to benefit themselves.
  6. It was a disappointment. She made a good effort, but the selfish rich people who actually govern America blocked it. Maybe she should try again?
  7. Yes I do. She was laughed at by Congress. I doubt they will be laughing when she is Ms. President. As a result of exactly what she was trying to stop by the insurance companies, I ended owing over $60,000.00 for health care. Naturally members of Congress get lifetime full coverage at no cost. Hmmm.
  8. It was a complete flop. Nepotism at its worst is what I love to say about this.
  9. Reform Healthcare? She can't even see who is under Bill Clinton's Desk. This woman is destroying the chances of the Democratic Party to control office!
  10. I heard about it.I also heard about George Bush Sr. and his now infamous "read my lips. no new taxes"..I also heard about George W. Bush and his now infamous "mission accompished" SO I heard about a lot of things. All lies. But then that's government. You should be used to it.
  11. YES, I do. Hillary was outnumbered by a Republican, male Congress. She made a great presentation, but those old men did not want a woman, much less a Democrat telling them to take money from their rich buddies to see to it that the American people had adequate medical coverage.
  12. Hillary's cabal got shouted down by health care professionals and by health insurers. She tried to exclude them from private meetings and was soundly criticized for not including interested parties. There were no laws passed, pertaining to health care reform, that arose from her activities and/or her committee. Hers was a bad idea. It is still a bad idea.
  13. I remember that as well. I was very impressed that we finally had a First Lady with brains who took on a meaningful and significant project. Please remember, that as First Lady, Hillary Clinton did not have the "power" to make and/or enforce any promises. She wrote a major plan that went through the legislative process.
  14. She did get some stuff done. Many of the things like pre-existing illness was abolished. That helped me a lot with my diabetes, the reason she didn't or couldn't get it done was there was just to much resistance against socialized medicine, but with 47 million without access to affordable health care at this time and that number growing every day it might be an idea whose time has come. People that are against it need to be educated as to why it is needed. This is a complex thing that effects everybody in the long run and is on many levels a much needed thing.
