- You can either work in an office, or have your own business and work from home - you can get multiple employers this way, and the pay is pretty reasonable.
- I'm not sure that there are that many work-at-home (or outside) opportunities despite what the ads for private $$ schools proclaim. If interested in training, please go with the county vo-tech school or community college (perhaps non-credit course) as long as it's accredited within the industry. Please be very wary of work at home offers as they are most likely scams especially if asking for money upfront and/or personal info which can put one at risk for identity theft: http://www.ftc.gov and can click 'identity theft'. General info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and search 'medical transcriptionists' or such. Please steer clear of online, for-profit schools such as penn foster, stratford career, university of phoenix, strayer and others: http://www.uopsucks.com http://www.ripoffreport.com and can type into search.
- Yes! I love it! I went through MT Advantage Career Center. There is good money to be made in this field if you go to a top school. Good luck!
- try enrolling at www.mtuniversity.com. :) online learning to become a medical transcriptionist. then from there, you can earn money without even having to have a medical degree!
- The simplest definition of Transcription is conversion of voice to electronic text form. Medical Transcription is an IT enabled service that requires specialized skills in utilizing Information technology in converting the voice data of the doctors who are in the US, consisting of patient history and medical advises into electronic documents. Medical transcription as an industry shown very encouraging growth providing employment for millions of youth, as well as business opportunities. Medical transcription is one of the fastest-growing professions in the country today, notifies the U.S. Department of Labor. It is ranked #14 in the top 25 professions and is ranked as a #1 home based career. The continuous growing demand for medical transcriptionists is attributed to a growing and aging population. Older age groups receive greater numbers of medical tests, procedures, etc. This growing demand is also spurred by the need for electronic documentation that can be easily accessed by providers, third-party payers, consumers, etc. You can visit www.askribe.com and www.andhrascribe.com 919866620123/919247861652. - I just finished my medical transcription course with Canscribe. Excellent. It is a tough course, but doable. I will be doing the job hunt thing after my practicum. I plan to work at home. Canscribe is a Canadian school. It is also accredited and has a great reputation.
- I was a medical transcriptionist working from home for 13 years. It was a great way to earn money while being at home for my son. Many transcriptionists get their training through a course of study while others carry their medical terminology knowledge with them from other health related fields. You would need to get the terminology down, and then get started. Many companies want experience so there's a catch-22. However, doctors and hospitals may be hiring, and after a time you can work from home as many transcriptionists do. There's some excellent information for anyone considering a career in this field in the website listed below. No affiliation with any school or products, just good info, including real job listings in coding, billing, and transcription. http://www.MedicalTranscription.com http://www.MTBrainstorm.com http://medicaltranscription-dot-com.blogspot.com/ http://www.MedicalTranscription.com/work-from-home.html
- That is not a good field. With the advances in voice recognition technology, there will be very few jobs in the future. Here's an email I just received. I am in the health care field. If you know of anyone between 18-28 years old, interested in the Nursing field, University of the District of Columbia (UDC) is offering FREE tuition, FREE books, a $250 monthly stipend, and guaranteed job placement as a nurse at Providence Hospital upon graduation (it's a 3 year program) with a starting salary of $40,000. The program is recruiting new students now!! Please contact Ms. Beshon Smith (202) 266-5481 or email Bsmith@urbanalliance.org
